I get curmudgeonly about the concept of “BLUF” (bottom line up front) as it works with most people but can be an absolute disaster in situations where (a) the decision makers want to have a say in the genesis of a solution or (b) the amount of context needed to understand why a specific recommendation was made exceeds the benefits of aggressive summarization.

Sometimes ideas don't need to be hard, they just need to be structured. Or repeated until grokked so that they become second nature; such as walking, so to speak. There is value on reiterating this in business book form, it seems.
