By upstreaming its code changes to parent projects such as Linux, wlroots, GTK and GNOME applications, Purism believes that it can reduce its long-term maintenance costs and be able to offer lifetime software updates for the Librem 5 phone and fight planned obsolescence.
I keep eyeing the Librem 5, but just can't shake the feeling that it would be a massive inconvenience to leave the android/iphone ecosystem at this point in tech history, monopolies and virtualization notwithstanding.
Anyone have feedback on how it fares as a daily use smartphone for your tech savvy lay person?
