Smaller is probably better for evs. In this class of vehicles evs stand to get the full benefit of a considerably lighter and less complex drivetrain, that ice cannot come close to. Furthermore marketing them as short range, low speed people movers means the overall battery weight, which is likely the biggest impediment to ev replacing ices, can be better compensated for.
