"Ethicist" is someone paid by a large institution to run interference on the time-tested mores of those pesky little people. A big villain throws an underling under the bus. Life goes on.

Harvesting your data and selling it to the highest bidder -- ethical! -- as long as there are enough POCs and LGBTQIAs on the payroll.
