Ask HN: How to survey local devs/engineers/makers?

I’ve recently moved to a progressive, yet small community. I haven’t yet built a social network (haven’t been feeling social myself) but am interested to know what kinds of skills local devs have (and if there are many).

I was planning on having a basic landing page accessed by QR code on a poster on the local noticeboard. With a short survey asking about skills, exciting upcoming technologies, current projects, etc.

The results of the survey will be open for the community to view, and I won’t be collecting any personal data.

Do you think this would be an effective way for me (and the rest of the community) to learn about the kinds of skills there are locally, and also learn about interesting companies, technologies, etc?
