Strategically, this seems like a mistake. It's better to fire the activists outright now - the problem is not gone, just deferred, until the next confrontation.

ethics seems to be a comfort pillow which no one actually believes in but serves as a shield to the emptiness of reality. i can't think of a single subject less rational than the study of ethics. but it dictates our lives! (e.g. medical ethics etc.)
