Rick Perry is a member of the political party that has controlled Texas for 20 years now, so there is nobody else to blame.

Actually, you do have regulators. It's just that they're incompetent. Anyone who ignored them did fine:

Are they incompetent or restricted in what they can actually do? Or both?

As a Texas resident, let me be the first to say that this is a lie.

As a lifelong Texas resident, I can tell you that ol’ Rick is right on the money. Notice, my reply is just as useful as the the original comment. All generalities are wrong, and is obviously a divided issue.

Clearly Rick Perry's house is warm.

Also, those glasses, adapted in a previous run for president, are still working for him. They make him look smart.

Considering that he's blaming renewables for the outage (versus offline gas capacity, which was the real culprit), I am skeptical of any other claims he makes. He seems to be pushing an agenda.

As a Texan without power since 2am Monday morning I just count my blessings that we aren't subject to federal oversight. Just imagine how horrible that would be! My house is 20 degrees right now. With Federal oversight, who knows how low it could go!

20 years ago this would be joke about rugged individualism of Texans.

I think America is becoming a parody of itself.
