Show HN: I built an AI art installation (Nvidia Jetson, StyleGAN, a button)

I just finished my latest project building an AI art installation from scratch, using a Nvidia Jetson Xavier NX, a StyleGAN (trained to generate abstract art), a button and a PIR sensor.
I’m not an artist (I work as a Data Scientist), but the idea of having consumable art interests me. Also recently, I’ve started to gain interest in the intersection between art and technology.
How the installation works is that an artwork generated by the StyleGAN is displayed on the screen. When the button below the screen is pushed, a newly generated artwork is displayed. The old artwork is deleted and can’t be seen anymore. To reduce the risk of burn-in, I integrated a passive infrared sensor into the control box. When no movement has been registered around the installation within a pre-defined amount of time, the screen saver is triggered making the screen go black.
I’ve documented the whole process (images, text and code), if anyone wants to create their own art installation using their own generative code. Being mostly a lurker here on HN, it’s always fun to be able to share something as well!
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask them :)
