Made from 1/16th scale 3d printed maker parts? I am particularly impressed by the frying pan!
All that can be mine for just $7,500 a month from their non-branded website, and I can reserve one now if I purchase a key chain for $100?

"We ship worldwide. No refunds."
Ya, imagine that.
If it seems entirely more plausible there, what does that mean?
> Entire economies will need to re-evaluate what it means to give flexibility just as its users are realizing the boundaries of these new flexibilities. We’re already seeing an exodus of major metropolises. Lockdown hysteria has forced us to consider whether the paths we thought we prescribed ourselves is really ours. As this changes how many will choose to live, LOT is building a mission to earth.
Did they GPT-3 this? It has the same uncanny valley feeling of word mash that almost has meaning.
I liked this sentence but had no idea what it meant. I was going to sit down and work it out.
Which now I 'get it', it actually has meaning, so not GPT-3.
Basically it's saying make society less dense, spread out. Squish high-rises down.
Which since this is fiction is pretty boring fiction.
They want to lower entropy. Crappy boring humans everywhere compared to mega cities and endless deserts and jungles. Drive for hundreds of miles and just see flat boring people. No Tyrell Corporation, no San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge shanty town, just people in little houses.
So their premise is that because people can't afford to put money down on a home, they're going to ... pay $4k a month for an RV instead?
An RV + a car means you have a car to e.g. commute, while your home stays where you put it. Here you cannot commute as easily. I wonder how do you do grocery shopping while living at some picturesque country place, without a car or even a motorbike.
I would see a normal RV retrofitted with these amenities (solar energy, a Starlink antenna, etc) a much more reasonable proposition for those who wants to live off-grid.
BTW one of the things I see especially problematic when living in an autonomous home is water. Storing it, sparing it, recycling it. When you don't have a water pipe, or a 1000 gal water tank, not having enough water may be pretty nasty.
Their subscription comes with, and I quote:
- LOT Life subscription, basic self-care products
- Remote smart address (delivery locker, automatic postal routing, DMV untethered, utilities)
- Water delivery, food boxes
So you don't do grocery shopping!

Ark 1 is the next project below Mercedes.
Using "cheeks" in the plural makes this line far more hilarious than was probably intended.

Truly no.
We need nature to do it's thing, and that means removing ourselves from large swathes of it.
Build beautiful cities, with parks, and urban farms (hydropnics etc), and leave everything else alone.
I definitely don't want one of these parked on my block.
2 is 1, and 1 is none
There's been worse things on the front page. The concept art is nice and well done, I enjoyed scrolling through it. But the subscription price is laughable
