Everything Is Buggy

Crazy for a Gen-Z like me to think about a time when the latest computer developments and chatter was transmitted in actual paper magazines, development was done on bare-metal or very close to it, and the finished product was boxed and plucked off shelves the way new iPhones are today [1]. Speaks to a more exciting era where everything was a novelty and evolving (from chips to systems to software), compared to today's relatively stale web and computing platforms (Windows, Mac, Android, Google, Facebook) that practically everybody takes for granted.

Everything Is Buggy is the 4th instalment of Steven Sinofsky's [1] serialized book Hardcore Software: Inside the Rise and Fall of the PC Revolution [2]:

> Hardcore Software is a first-person account of what I saw at the PC revolution from the perspective of joining Microsoft as a newly hired software design engineer fresh from graduate school working on developer tools, through my time as a program manager and ultimately leading Office, and then moving to Windows, and everything in between (like working as technical assistant to Bill Gates.)
