Dev creeped out after he fired up Ubuntu VM on Azure was approached by Canonical

I was once on LinkedIn using an email address unique to them. I can pinpoint the day I deleted my LinkedIn account, because that's the day I started to get spam on that address.

No spam before I deleted the account, daily spam afterwards.

Any alternatives? I found the best contracts on Linkedin while everything else is dead. Actually - the contracts found me, Linkedin is the one platform where I don't have to move my finger one centimeter to get showered with good deals.

Early on I got some jobs, but later I got showered with bad deals and got led into the longest wild goose chases.

I am still getting excellent offers there. A bit of spam, but nothing unmanageable. And I still didn't find anything remotely comparable.

They're like Facebook, almost impossible to delete the account.
