Is Shopify Making It Easier to Commit Mass Dropshipping Scams on Social Media?

I was motivated to post after I saw a CNBC piece on it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBqLKZRDtqs) and wasn't sure if text or video is better to start a discussion around the topic.
I was personally burnt by those Instagram/Facebook products that ended up being of very low quality despite the fancy and familiar-looking Shopify site. I know I would have been less likely to buy if the UX was of the same quality as the product, but with Shopify its very hard to tell between a legit operation that invests in their storefront website vs a one-person scam shop.
(Also that is one hell of a clickbait title.)
