Maybe this is the wrong question? Is every aspect of discussing race or species bad, especially when it is being used in the context and by design of telling a story? Does D&D make fun of these species or use words that are pejoratives to describe them? Would the story make sense without describing all the beings in these worlds? I ask this because in my experience, D&D provided incredible stories, lore and described powerful attributes of a vast array of species. I still have all the Encyclopedia Magica. I suppose I could re-read them with a more critical eye.
