ESP32 does not use ARM. It uses Tensilica Xtensa LX6 microprocessor.

Its a great chip, I use it in a lot of projects that require close range wifi. If you dont need wifi or need low power or longer range, its better to go with stm32 and dedicated wifi chip

What is it about the esp32 which means it can't do long range wifi? Someone here is getting 10km which seems pretty long range to me: https://hackaday.com/2017/04/11/esp32-wifi-hits-10km-with-a-...

Also don't forget it older brother ESP8266. If you just need something simple (and not BT), its even cheaper and does the job.

They are both supported in Arduino IDE, my personal preference is platform IO though.

IFTTT changed their terms recently so not sure If I would continue relying on them
