How Not to Launch a Product

Earlier today I launched a side project I've been working on (https://www.fourdayweek.io/)

I emailed it to my 500 pre-subscribers and posted it on HN, so far so good.

The HN title was "Show HN: 4 day week - software jobs with a better work life balance". Unfortunately because I started the title with a number (i.e. 4) HN seems to not rank it. It shows fine on the "/show" HN page, but not on the home page (trust me, I scrolled through 20 pages and it's definitely not there - even though it had 15 upvotes).

I then posted it on Product hunt and let the subscribers know (I should have included this in the first email to be fair).

Some of them got angry.

Five minutes later Product hunt deleted my page - absolutely no idea why. Maybe one of my subscribers worked at ProductHunt...
