Toyota solid-state battery lighter, much more powerful than current lithium-ion

Yes, but is it consumer repairable? Is it even repairable at a reasonable price? I swore off batteries after the Prius battery died. In order to repair it I would have had to pay 3k to replace the entire battery. Until these batteries are more modular, or cheaper/easier to repair I don't think electric cars are going to catch on. Besides, in the era of covid with fewer people going into the office than ever before, what's the point in an electric car?

This tech is still heavily in R&D. It's all hype until they work out how to mass produce it, a good 5+ years off.

I will believe it when it is my hands. I could wallpaper a house with all the different new battery technologies that are lab only.

This is only a vague press release about a laboratory demo. Wake me up when there's an actual product.
