Additionaly I don't see how the car with that new steering wheel can get approval in Europe when you are not supposed to cross you hands when driving. There is a reason people aren't driving around K.I.T.T. steering wheels.
This new Model S is a bridge too far in a few different regards. I’d probably go with an EV BMW or Benz in this segment when they are available, if I had the money. Or the new Hummer.
The stuff about reducing friction seems like a snow job to me. A typical leg of a drive involves 3 shifts and probably lasts more than 5 minutes. Not real arduous.
