Audio Modulated Tesla Coil (2010)

You can even buy those on AliExpress (oh the wonders of Aliexpress). Here is a 250cm version for 8k€:

Also very cool: an unusual and compact, because PCB-based, Tesla coil design (that’s „printed circuit boards“ for those not yet familiar with the abbreviation „PCB“):

When using arcs/plasmas with the intention to create sound, these devices are also called „plasma speakers“:

Reminds me of commercial high end plasma speakers: http://www.noiseaddicts.com/2009/04/plasma-speakers/

Doom E1M1 theme played on musical tesla coil, by the author: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDBhdPNEKDU

Always thought this would be a cool way to do a burglar alarm.

ArcAttack (the band) are pretty fun.
