In any case, if it's more complicated than clicking a button once (e.g. if I'd have to automate any subscription stuff to get it going), I'm just going to drop RHEL-based distros as a target and move on. CentOS was fine because it behaved like all the other distros (no subscriptions, no authentication requirements), and so I provided some level of RHEL support ('as long as it works on CentOS') for my projects.
If you're building a product for American businesses, you should target RHEL. So it makes sense to make it easier for people to build against it.
