The very last line of this article proposes the solution of new laws and regulations that govern online platforms. Is that what we really want? I'm genuinely asking because I can see both sides of the argument quite clearly and still feel uneasy thinking that this topic is so black and white.

Yes. This is no different from the civil rights movement when we as a society asked, "is it right that a restaurant can refuse service to people they do not like?". In the end we decided no you cannot discriminate. Same thing needed here.

You're unironically comparing someone losing a social media account for inciting violence to Blacks being refused service for their race?

I've seen people here unironically compare it to the Night of Long Knives. There are no depths they won't sink to.
