I had thought instead of Nipah virus it would be African Swine Fever, it's on the move in East Asia. Mortality approaching 100 % in affected herds, no lasting immunity against infection, bad news, especially in poorer countries that rely on pigs to turn garbage into protein.
On the bright side, I suppose, without that animal reservoir available, this virus looks like it kills off its host fast enough that it won't spread that much: everyone with it will just die too quickly.
