A Hacker News Search Engine - to Counter Google

I share the same concerns regarding Google, I also think it's loosing quality day by day, we need better solutions and maybe advances in ML et al could help us there, maybe we also need a better way to crawl inside apps, social networks etc where most of content live nowadays and gets lost forever after its short-lived fame, even by Google (see my other HN post just now, it also comes from this thinking https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25614898)

I think your HN search idea is a good one, not really to counter Google, because I'd think it's very biased towards geeks interests, but a worth proof of concept for sure which might find an audience for it

People underestimate the value of good analysis. When an article has been vetted by thousands of intelligent actors from diverse fields, veracity and insights can be far superior than what any AI can offer. It is like having a consortium of peer reviewed articles evaluated by crowdsourced geniuses, with a punishment/reward system that keeps the shortcomings of human bias and greed in check. Compare this with Google, where the wisdom of the crowd is often influenced by popularity or profit, with AI augmenting the darkest parts of human nature.
