What were they expecting from Prop 22? The proposition for their exploitation passed based on a massive campaign telling people it'd be "good".

The lies and propaganda worked fantastically for these companies. Now they may direct work, direct the tools used, how the work is to be accomplished, and they control the hours. They can control them as if they're employees but they're "independent contractors" with no labor rights. The lies worked perfectly.
