A personal joke I tell often when discussing email correspondence:

The amount of time I put into an email inversely correlates to the amount of time someone will spend reading and/or responding to it.

That's a good one. I have the opposite experience myself, but also the more time I spend on an email the more concise it gets.

I think you may have the same view. Making e-mails concise and to the point requires effort, and effort requires time.

It is really this: "No one wants to read your shit"
