I'm not too sure I caught what you said in that last sentence? Do you mean it is difficult to argue that authority figures act in bad faith despite there being substantial evidence for it?
They'll most likely think you're exaggerating and maybe a little bit of a conspiracy theorist. Most people really do trust the government to act in good faith, even if you see them badmouthing various politicians.
