Biden team slams Twitter over plan to wipe followers from White House accounts

Archiving the account and creating a new probably isn't a bad idea for an account that represents a position and not a person. Is this a new general policy they're going to implement for every account that's associated with a position rather than a person? If it's one off, special thing then it's a really bad idea. If it's a new policy is fine too archive to mark the change of ownership but they should never drop the followers.

The title of the article is kind of inflammatory but it is the title cnn chose so I left it. More clearly:

“Twitter will notify followers of these accounts to provide context that the content will be archived and allow them the choice to follow the Biden administration's new accounts," Pacilio said. "For example, people who follow @WhiteHouse will be notified that the account has been archived as @WhiteHouse45 and given the option to follow the new @WhiteHouse account."
