Microsoft, Google, Cisco, and others file amicus brief in support of NSO lawsuit

It's hard to tell from the article where to draw the line between the Raytheons of the world and NSO Group. Is business only allowed to sell dumb weapons to government?

Looks like international trade in zero-days already is treated as potential weapons[1]. Is the point that Facebook et al object to being primary targets of hostile international actors? Using the same logic, though, if I'm feeling insecure about foreign air power do I sue JSC Sukhoi Company?

I think the idea behind the lawsuit is prevent giving such companies legitimacy and limit the exit options of the founders and shareholders of such companies. Peddlers of zero days will always exist and hackers will be able to sell but without the veil of “legitimacy”.

Ethically speaking I'm against what the NSO group does, but do Facebook et-al think that suing the company stops the development of these exploits?

What is the end game exactly.

All of these headline companies already sell backdoors into their products to the NSA, according to Snowden. Is this just them defending their exclusive contracts? Preventing competition?
