Ask HN: What is the best UI testing stack for a Java Application

Looking to add some UI test automation to a foss IntelliJ plugin.

Most of the plugin is UI, so these tests make sure there are not regressions with every release from Jetbrains. This is necessary because the plugin performs some automation using git.

Ie, 2020.3 -> 2020.4.

Curious if anyone has recently explored options for selenium like behavior, but against a Java-based application like pycharm.
