Ask HN: Can air scrubbers/ionizers impair N95 masks?

The major part of the N95 protection is the charged fibers, which attract small particles, including aerosols. I was wondering if breathing ionized air thru a N95 can cancel it's COVID-19 aerosol protection capability.
