Prosecutors say Google accessed WhatsApp messages – but the evidence is thin

Whatsapp advertises end to end encryption even thought it knows very well that an overwhelming majority of people turn on Drive and iCloud backups.

Even if you turn off backups, the person/people who you chat with would most likely have it turned on.
