In [1] the founder calls it "differentiated training", but that doesn't seem to be an established term in English. There's a wikipedia article on "differentiated instruction" [2], but that seems to be specific to a school context. I only really found information on it in German, e.g. [3].

Honing one's targeting ability. If you become accustomed to making shots in a smaller hoop, hitting the larger hoop becomes somewhat easier. I've seen similar in batting practice with softball players: lots of practice with baseballs, then the larger softball is easier to track and hit.
But this is cool as a concept.
