It's astounding to me that nobody is making modern 4:3 screens. I made my Thinkpad T60 last far longer than it should've just because I didn't want to give up the aspect ratio.
I think the closest you can get is 3:2 on the Microsoft Surface line for modern laptops, which is even more vertical real estate.

I really like 21x9 on the desktop since you can split it in half and be pretty close to two 4x3 monitors (1.16 vs 1.33).
