Ask HN: What's the Black Bar at the Top For?

1 pointffpip2 comments

I've noticed a black bar at the top Can anyone explain what it is for?

Is it in honor of Tony Hsieh? Another post thought so too.

I've opened HN in multiple browsers to check whether it was something weird with Firefox, but it happened with all browsers.

Yes.

It should be clickable, it always leads to questions. https://hn.algolia.com/?q=ask+black+bar

I remember a few years ago someone asking the same question, which is where I learned about it just the same.

Even a mouse-over would clarify for anyone seeing it for the first time.
