"desktop client" is a bit of a stretch for this 100+ MB "website in a headless browser" Electron app.
I am waiting for https://sciter.com to go open source in the upcoming months. We can sigh in relief. Also, why aren't more apps created using https://github.com/webview/webview instead of electron. Windows support is not that bad you know.
I think c-smile has got the thing late TBH. Going open source before Electron (at least on Linux) would have given him a lot of leverage over Electron. But its ultimately his product, his life.

and they provide a docker image for hosting it easily, which is how I plan to use it for myself.
