I'm just old enough to remember the 2000 election. That year, we did not know who the president was going to be until Dec. 8th.
I passed through the downtown of a nearby city last Saturday and there was constant honking of horns, cheering, and waving from drivers and pedestrians -- the first time at midday, and the second time in the evening. From what I gather, that scene was commonplace across all urban centers in the US last weekend.
All these people are all going to be very, very upset if it turns out that Biden did not win the election.
The fact that so many foreign countries with strong and active intelligence agencies, closely linked to ours, have also assumed the election is over, is one I haven't considered. The author is right; there may be two rival governments operating in the United States in January.
