Quick background: "Die letzten Tage der Menschheit" is a collection of scenes dealing with WW1 which are not meant to be seen as one coherent play or performed at once. Usually, theatre companies select a subset of scenes to perform.

How does it compare with Robert Musil's "Man without qualities"? Both seems to be somewhat on related topics..

Hmm, probably gonna need a Cliff Notes version of it, or funny excerpts quoted, before diving into read a 42 act play...

I'll give you my favourite quote:

I hear noises which others don't hear, and they distract me from the music of the spheres - which others also don't hear.

That is Kraus' alter ego speaking, in the context of the Great War and jingoism in Austria-Hungary, which the play satirizes.

Jonathan Franzen brought out The Kraus Project in 2013; I haven't read any of it, unless an excerpt from the introduction in a book review.
