Well it is a nice summary of a nice transistor. Sometimes it is nice to go back to basics. And understand how things are done there.
To pick just one example, Philips Semiconductor disappeared two corporate reorganizations ago, and was never all that interested in making the 2N2222... they have always preferred the BC series.
And the guy's name wasn't "Wlater".
