It’s a bit of a stretch but imagine if China bought Twitter for some reason:

Joe Biden: We stand with independent Taiwan. Fact check: This statement is false. Taiwan is part of China.

Does this hypothetical not give you chills?

Nope. Twitter is a product. If it becomes China’s mouthpiece, you can point your browser to a different URL.

Network effects are a thing. You personally could, but you can’t do anything about hundreds of millions who won’t.
