It's waaay better than a info-book so I would urge him to cash in. There must be 50 well off fans willing to drop a grand on something like this ...
However, as noted in "200", the spinning is cooler.

"DHDs establish a wireless link with the nearby Stargate and act as a control device and power source, allowing any intelligent species to dial it without having to rotate the gate manually or develop their own computer interface."
I'm not aware of an in-universe reference on the show, but it is hard to remember all the dialog for 10 seasons of a 40 minute show.
If not, is there another way to get that effect (rapidly move the back mirror away from a LCD panel (where would it go?), rapidly move a LCD panel or just a print in front the back of the mirror…)?
I think one of the best Teal'c moments is in those last two season, and that Ben Browder did a pretty good job replacing RDA all things considered. Plus, "200" is in there so come on.
Atlantis was a very different show in a lot of ways, more Star-Trek-y than SG-1 but it worked, and Picardo got to be part of the main cast for a season which was pretty great.
Universe had maybe 3 good episodes in its entire run and suffered terribly from what I call "Lost Syndrom"[0]. It started to come together at the end, there's even a point where some competent writer comes in and hand-waves away some of the stupider plot ideas as "it was all a dream", but overall it was pretty disastrous I think.
[0] The writers pretend there is some master plan that will make all the mysterious dangling plot threads come together eventually but really they're just making up crazy bullshit as they go.
For SG-1, the finale of the 8th season was intended as a bookended series finale, it getting renewed was unexpected. However, I think they handled it well, continuing the series long theme: First, the Goa'uld who pretended to be gods with technology, then the Ori who truly had powers of gods. Teal'c has a good line at some point where when talking to the other Jaffa he has to change tactics, changing his argument from "they are not gods" to "are they worthy of being called gods?"
I also find it interesting that you liked the SGU concept but not so much SGA, considering the part you called out has a parallel with that one: For the majority of the series, Atlantis was a mystery not truly under control of the expedition. They gained access to it bit by bit the same as the Destiny.
I started with SGA, that got me into Stargate. I watched the entire SGA series, and SG-1 did not live up to the entertainment SGA provided for me. Make no mistake, I like SG-1 too, but I love SGA the most for its entertainment value (I laughed a lot), and I love SGU for its drama, not so much laughter, I did not actually laugh I think but I was immersed into the plot. SGA for fun/survival/exploration, SGU for drama/survival/exploration. SG-1 was kind of everything in all fairness, but I missed Rodney McKay and John Sheppard from it. They made SGA amazing for me, along with the occasional Zelenka. :D
SG-1 aired when I was a kid, I hated Stargate when I was a kid, but as an adult, I fucking love it. I still get nostalgic over it sometimes. The actors are so old and different now. :(
Atlantis was certainly different, but equally entertaining.
I also like this one, where they combine an infinity mirror with a pepper's ghost effect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oR80TuOCoic
Here's a link to the finished thing: https://youtu.be/oR80TuOCoic?t=1158
Beautiful work!
