This is nice, but I'd rather just have a physical switch. One that physically breaks the connection. For a camera, a built-in cover seems like a fine idea.
It sounds like they have a physical switch. This module is able to read the switch state and set some indicator LEDs accordingly.
But the kill switch itself is physical.
The Lenovo P52 models I ordered for my company have a physical slider that covers the camera. This is the 100% sure way nothing can see out of it. Too bad the microphone doesn't have the same level of assuredness. But it's also Lenovo who's already been caught doing hardware spying so...
it's ok, I thought the lenovo service engine would quietly uninstall itself after a few months. :)
