Covid does survive in aerosols. Its R0 has been estimated around 2.5-3. Virus particles are usually smaller than 1 micron but can clump together or there can be many in a small droplet. It is easily aerosolized, can travel long distances in the air and survive for many hours. The good thing is it takes many particles to overwhelm the immune system and get a severe case.
Measles has an incredibly high R0, and survives in aerosols. If covid does also, I wonder whether its R0 can get that high. Are there degrees of aerosolization, like "very fine mist" vs "small droplets"?
