Starlink ToS: “the parties recognize Mars as a free planet”

The Outer Space Treaty of 1967 states that already.

"outer space, including the Moon and other celestial bodies, is not subject to national appropriation by claim of sovereignty, by means of use or occupation, or by any other means".

This clause honestly seems like one that could end up like Google’s once celebrated “Don’t be evil” motto.

It really depends on whether the powers that be on Earth and StarLink are around to play the proverbial game of chicken when the time comes.

I kind of wish for a Terms of Service clause that was silly, yet ultimately impactful on Earth on timescale that I can live to see.
