Gut bacteria and even all bacteria en virusses that compromise the ecosystem that is your body greatly determines not only your physical but even your mental health. I don't really think this is a fad. The links are on the level of the xkcd p-value comic. Fact is, in biology and medicine things like this are hyped up and refuted two decades later, only to be re-refuted 4 decades later.

Best example are the nutrition fads.

This isn’t a fad though. Nor is nutrition. They’re operating on a different plane than fads which are overly prescriptive and don’t account for differences in and changing environments.

Your gut microbiome is not a fad, it’s critical for your survival. With that said there is no solid evidence that c-section harms it.
