With Hunter Biden Expose, Suppression Is a Bigger Scandal Than the Actual Story

If you're going to let foreign adversaries collect compromat and pump it into your election cycle the reasonable expectation is that the candidates who win are the ones that will comply with the requests of the foreign adversary. I agree that trying to censor the story is an ineffective method of preventing this kind of foreign interference in US elections, but we need a realistic alternative before we abandon it.

Also to be clear, the veracity of the story is far from certain - between Fox refusing to take the story, and the WSJ having it's news division basically fact check its opinion division this isn't some clear case.

The only "scandal" here is that Russians and Republicans are once more trying to recreate the "leaked emails" hitjob that worked so well on last election.

The reason why this hack worked before with Hilary Clinton is because FBI's James Comey was willing to help.

So far the new director is not jumping into that trick.

Maybe he will, when the election gets closer and the Republicans do panic real bad.
