Those blurred images, on the other hand, look nothing like what I see without glasses (I have myopia and astigmatism). Has research been done into reproducing what visually impaired folks actually perceive, or are designers just reaching for a convenient Photoshop filter?
The blurred images are uniform, stable and lower intensity. I see images which are just as bright, but non-uniform (value banding, especially near corners) and some chromatic aberration (which may be a result of viewing on my monitor). Anyone else?
