The SPARC tokamak: A critical next step towards commercial fusion

There's a commercial entity behind this, called Commonwealth Fusion [1] created by members of the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center (PSFC) [2], which looks like it has received $199MM in total funding to date via a Series A [3].
