I haven't read it but would love to hear what people have done based on it. I often think about this kind of thing when waiting in line or looking for a carpark. But I have never read anything formal on it outside of my current statistics training.
That's perfect; will probably quote that if I find myself in such a discussion. Knuth is just a treasure trove of knowledge.
Feynman's very basic arguments around "why something happens" [1] should be sufficient to demonstrate the relativity of scientific knowledge.
