Ask HN: Email addresses that pay owner for receiving spam?
Would there be any value in a captcha confirmed email system in which the address owners could receive fractional payments for reading solicitations?
I believe I just recieved my 5000th email from the Trump campaign, almost all of these I never read, just multiselect and delete once my inbox has enough of them. That got me thinking about the amount of time and energy they spend on getting my attention, all for not.
Last month I read some comments here on HN regarding a system to confirm that people had actually read an article before being allowed to comment. I believe that using a similar method would work well in this scheme.
I am not sure what the current cost per acquisition is but do you think there might be some room in there for the spamee to share in the profit?
