But more importantly, in my experience their HN handle matches their GitHub or Twitter profile that's found in the project, and it's easy to interact with them and explore more of their work (I've never seen a non-matching username or throwaway account claiming authorship before).

I'm not sure what that means. I can claim here that I'm the King of the UN. (Thanks, I understand it's an honor to meet Me.) Nobody verifies what I write. Whiting some wide limits, the owner of the site is not responsible for what the user write.
But it's known that HN links YC founders to their HN handles and highlights them to other founders, so this might not be too difficult.
