I'd like to live in a world were instead of developers just breaking an existing api, they leave the existing, in use apis and add new ones. It's ridiculous how often shit just breaks because an api is changed in an update.
You can't just "leave the existing" as that still means work if you have to write some translation layer from the old format to the new format. It's not like it would be free to keep the existing one around.
